Instructor / JOGA Coach -- Ursinus College
I have competed in USAG Gymnastics since I was six years old. I went on to compete on the bars and the beam for the Ursinus College Gymnastics Team from 2011 to 2015. I have been involved in gymnastics for 19 years and have coached for the last 5 years. In addition to what I am doing with gymnastics and my JOGA girls, I work full-time as a High School mathematics teacher in Fairlawn
My personal goals as well as those for my JOGA gymnasts are to be successful, both at competitive meets and every practice session. Besides achieving that feeling of success, I want the girls to have FUN doing gymnastics. That is why we all fell in love with the sport in the first place. In my free time, I like to craft, spend time with my family and friends and walk my two puppies.

My goal is to continue my education in the fall of 2016 in pre-nursing program. I work with my students so that they will accomplish all of their goals inside and outside the gym. I feel it is important that I work to make sure they enjoy coming to gymnastics every week.

With 40 years experience as an athlete, coach and lifestyle design expert, Coach Phil uses his background in gymnastics and fitness to help people live healthier lives through fitness and nutrition. He helps his students learn how to control the body and mind; connecting thought to movement and setting and achieving personal goals. Personally, I enjoy skiing, music, movies and hiking.
